Suisui at Seventy - chapter 10.1
Chapter 10.1
Jiang Suisui scooped the water
from the water tank and poured it into the cauldron. She will boil it first,
and then she was about to find a firewood stove.
However, when she turned around,
she saw that there was no shortage of firewood in the house, but it was coarse
firewood that was cut directly, and there was not much flammable fine firewood
and weeds left. In the past, Grandpa Jiang would chop the firewood before using
it, or collect some twigs and weeds from the mountains to use.
The current Jiang Suisui felt that she was still unable to do the job of chopping wood, and suddenly stared a
little bit dry.
She touched her chin and thought
for a while, yes, she still has to go to the mountain first.
Jiang Suisui wanted to order
another side dish. Later, she looked at the pickle jar, slapped her lips, and
shook her head.
How can there be nourishment if
you eat pickled vegetables every day?
Since I'm going to the
mountain... By the way! Jiang Suisui's eyes suddenly lit up, so let's dig some
wild vegetables by the way!
Two days ago, Grandma Jiang
cooked the wild vegetable soup. Although it was plain, it was quite
fragrant. It was better than a meal of pickles!
Just do it, Jiang Suisui found a
basket on her back in the kitchen, and put a small vegetable basket on her back, and rushed to the back of mountain.
Jiang Suisui has been here for a
few days. Although she hasn’t recognized people yet, the mountains behind the house
have wandered a few times.
Quite new, mountain climbing in
previous lives is exercise and recreation for people, but for people here, it's
a normal day-to-day life.
Every day we have to go up the
mountain to chop wood, dig wild vegetables, and pick up some mushrooms and
fungus when I'm lucky. You may be able to see wild animals when you go deep,
but Jiang Suisui did not dare to go deep. The deep mountains are only the most
experienced villagers in the village dare to enter.
As Jiang Suisui walked up the
mountain, she picked up some branches scattered on the ground and threw them
into the back basket. After a short while, she collected more than half of
them.
As for wild vegetables... she
realized that she didn't even know what wild vegetables look like when she went
up the mountain!
Jiang Suisui squatted down and
scanned the grass thinly. However, the weeds on the ground are overgrown, and
they all look the same, with green rhizomes and leaves. There is no way to
judge what is edible and what is not.
Jiang Suisui sighed, thinking
that if she asked Granny Jiang what the wild vegetables she usually eats now,
would she be considered stupid again?
Native country folks don’t even
recognize wild vegetables! It's unbelievable to say it. Since the children in
the village can walk and run, they have been helping to dig wild vegetables at
home.
